COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is concerned with developing an understanding of the properties of ceramic materials as they relate primarily to their structure and bonding.  The fundamental role of point defects and stoichiometry on the electric, dielectric and diffusional properties of ceramics will be discussed.  Optical, magnetic and dielectric properties will also be discussed.
